The time has come to update our drink trolley and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I would say summertime is my favorite time to decorate the bar cart, mostly because it’s a laid back look, packed with earthy elements and vibrant in color. This little space is perfect for entertaining and when the snacks are up there, you better believe we all hover!
To create this look, I didn’t spent much at all. Rather, I went into my kitchen cabinet in hopes to use much of what I already have. I brought out my cake stand, copper mugs, pink wine glasses and with these items started a base for the look.
I scattered freshly cut fruit which could be used as finger food or garnish for drinks. The great thing about fruit is knowing you’ll have to use it one way or another, so why not incorporate it as a pop of color?
A few of my plant babies came to show off too! Philodendrons are a wonderful indoor plant! They can readily maintain their health and beauty in low light so they are no brainers if you thumbs aren’t so green. I placed it on the upper level of my cart since it’s leaves and long and pretty. (that would be her showing off, not me).
Since terra cotta and green blend well together, I placed our little cacti on top of the cake stand, we call those guys “The Huggers”. The pot is small enough to get pushed back if I needed to place a couple of snacks on it. I included my gold spoons in lieu of stirrers. It was important to offset the different metallic tones so I used a bit of black and some wood (how cute is this sea turtle wooden vase). A 2×3 kilim rug lays under the bar cart, giving this space a bit of grounding while elongating.
Want to feel fancy? Run to Costco and buy a few bottles of San Pelegrino. The price alone will do the trick.
This summer barcart feels breezy enough to me. The fun part was the having the freedom to mix and match everything with no reservations. Cheers to sunny days and warm nights!
