I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t want to ‘wow’ their guests with a beautiful arrangement this time of year! With all of the festivities going on, making a first impression with our tablescape is something we really look forward to. At the same time, we’ve got an expensive month coming up and we certainly don’t want to break the bank trying to decorate our table. (Disclamer: by we, I really mean ME) I created a floral arrangement, with a few seasonal blooms that I found and spent under $20. That should do the trick, do you think?
Now, i know these colors are somewhat unconventional! But hey! It’s kinda nice to switch up the colors from time to time! But if warm and fuzzy tones are your thing, then please by all means kill it those awesome colors too!
First things first. I used a big bowl that I have as a vase. Shopping my home is something i truly believe in and chances are you’ve got something like it too! Then I went to the bulk of the arrangement, in this case it consisted of Hydrangeas. 3 stems served the purpose, as I didn’t want to over do it with white. I also purchased some lilac and hot pink carnations, these are usually the MOST inexpensive and are great fillers! A few of the Gerbera daisies had a orange-y look to them, so of course I scooped those up! The deep purple Hyacinth added added a pop of depth to the arrangement without being overbearing. Lastly I bought a single bunch of eucalyptus. I added them to the sides of the arrangement to give it a sort of cascade feel to it.
If you’re planning on using a bowl (as I did here), a great way to add a bit of height is to use books under your arrangement!! That’s clever, cheap and quite different than what your guest are expecting to see. The final touch, were of course, the pumpkins, not only would it not feel like autumn them, they’re just too darn cute to pass up.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these tips and more importantly, have money left over for the things that really matter this season. Expensive wrapping paper.
