Sometimes, all you need is a little paint, ya know what I’m sayin’? I had these taper candle holders laying around for a bit now, and hadn’t really used them since way back when I purchased them at the dollar store. They didn’t felt like anything special and have been tucked away for quite a bit. Mainly due to the clear glass. It just wasn’t doing it for me. Since I have an idea for an upcoming spring tablescape with these bad boys, I knew something HAD to be done.
This is a considerably small project therefore, a big ole can of paint from Home Depot isn’t necessary. I set out for something that would be just enough and surely, Amazon did not lead me astray. I found Krylon Short Cuts!! This is a 3oz. can of any paint you may need when you’re tackling a mini project, like this one! I love the sprayer, it was easy to handle and painted evenly!
The key is to spray from afar, so that the paint layers on evenly. If you get too close, it’ll smear and get clumpy (as i did here on the far left, hehe). I left them outside for approximately 2 hours (to dry) and tada! The end result was just what I had envisioned! How chic and elegant do these old, clear holders look now? You can find them in their original state here! However, I do encourage you to visit your local dollar store, as my girlfriend was able to single them out in store!
This can of spray paint is ideal for any touch ups or even a mini makeover. How bout trying them on some Easter eggs? That’s where I’m headed, anyway ;).
