I can’t believe it’s already Father’s Day already! Our special guy really deserve the best, so we’ve a really thoughtful day planned out for him. Luckily, I can spill all the beans, since today isn’t a day he’ll be reading anything on the blog. Haha. First, we’re going to brunch in the morning, with our dog OF COURSE! It’s a restaurant on the marina that we’ve yet been to! After that, he’ll be coming back here, where he’ll open presents. One thing he isn’t expecting is to be blindfolded and taken to a virtual shooting range! My stepson is too excited about it and I know they’re going to have the best fun!
Lastly, we’re coming back home and taking our first dip in the pool since our patio was redone! It’s not yet completed, but I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity of creating a simple and pretty tablescape for father’s day! Especially since most of the outdoor furniture is still tucked away in the garage. He loves little stuff like this!
Now, I had to get a bit more creative with this tablescape for few reasons, our outdoor dining set up is quite small, and I dont have as much stuff in blue as I thought I did! Oops! There are a few things I’d never get rid of, like my blue chinoiserie tea collection, so that was a must. I used the pitcher for the white peonies and the tea dishes will be for afternoon snacks, once we get back home. That pretty much took the bulk of the table!
I love that summer is filled with light colors, so I took the opportunity to splash some color around with a bit of food and drink! Doing stuff like that makes it easier to decorate from a budgeting standpoint and you’ll use everything you have! Im currently obsessed with Trader Joe’s Magocini, you know I had to add that in there! The pop of yellow is superb!
Redoing the patio has allowed all the greenery in our backyard to really come alive once again! Ill be sharing all of that goodness with you all soon! As you can see, something that simple allows me to tone the table down with decor and let nature do it’s thing right around it!
A few snacks, and some good pellegrino water and we’re on our way to spoiling our special guy!
Happy Father’s Day, friends!
